About

Hi!  My name is Catherine and I’ll be documenting my journey as a 2017-2018 U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Mexico.  Some fast facts about me: I graduated as a biology and English major from college, studied abroad in Spain, and plan one day to be a doctor-writer (the next Atul Gawande, if you will?)

La coreana americana = the Korean American female in Spanish, which speaks to multiple parts of my identity.  Yes, technically I should be a coreana estadounidense (in Spanish, americana refers to anyone from North or South America, and estadounidense is the correct term for someone from the U.S.), but I thought that la coreana americana had a better ring to it.  Please pardon my choice of linguistic semantics.
